Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Or better late than never......

I didn't finish this little gift for my Nan quite when I wanted to, but sometimes life just happens.
After all good intentions last week I started to feel like I'd been run over by a bus most days whilst trying to keep up with the usual schedule, my patchwork hotpads were just not a happening thing.
Then as the weekend rolled around, we decided to oil our verandah, for some utterly unknown reason, which is on all four sides of the house. This hasn't been done for years and is one of the many jobs on our long list from our unfinished extension. A huge job but GREAT to have it done!

Master 11, who I last wrote about here, was also off on a three day excursion from Monday so part of the weekend was spent preparing him for that too.....I missed him very much. All back safe and sound now with lots of stories :)

So, Tuesday night was the night! I finally sat down to finish off my Nan's birthday gift. Very satisfying to have some time at the machine and finish this little gift.

I posted them by express on Wednesday and just this morning received a call from my Nan saying they had arrived. She was very pleased.

My love of sewing and quilting has been passed to me by my Nan. She is such a treasure to talk to.

After some surgery a few weeks ago to remove some blood from under her skull, she has recovered very well.....and I am glad she is still here.

Thanks for your comment. I read and appreciate every one and love the inspiration from your blogs too. Happy stitching!
