It's Appalling!

I'm totally and utterly appalled!
Was my last post really in May!
Yes Minister says it really well (hope the link works for you - couldn't find it in the video list today)

Believe it or not there have been some projects on the go since then.....slow as they may be....

So many photos below to fill in the last couple of months.

These pics were taken quite a few weeks ago now after I had put together the centres for my two boys' quilts. Master 10....
and Master 12...this one is heavier on the dirt bikes as he is pretty passionate about his riding.

Definitely doesn't come from my side of the family. But I love seeing how much he enjoys it.

I added some generous sized borders to overhang on their beds.

The quilt tops are now sandwiched together ready for quilting....so I had better jump to it!

I had taken some pictures since my last post ready for another one....but didn't quite make it to the computer yet!

This LOVELY book came into my possession after a lucky dip at our fantastic quilting day with Pauline from Quilters World. It was so great to pick up many quilting tips from her and see her use all the great gadgets she brings along. Peg did such a wonderful job in organising the day.

These are just some of the many projects featured in Leanne Beasley's book. Some great scrapping ideas.

This gorgeous quilt with stitcheries.

A very lovely and handy bag.

Something oh so pretty to keep your sewing supplies in.
And some just lovely stitcheries.

I haven't started any projects from the book yet (oh why not! I'm sure I don't have enough already, lol!!)...
so I often pick it up and am very inspired. Will have to make some lovely quilting gifts soon.

These are some of the stippled hearts that we did on the day with the variegated quilting thread....

...and these are some I have practiced at home since then....I'm wanting to get some more practice in. They are quite enjoyable to do.

And somewhere in there too my little Miss 8 needed an 'olden days' outfit for a school excursion. There was nothing much at home to work with so after popping into an op shop looking for dress ups I came home with this large tablecloth....
I was very taken by the print. Surely I could make something out of this!

So after adapting an old pattern and adding some detail we came up with something for her.

She was so excited to wear an 'olden days' dress on her excursion.

The photos aren't that great as they were taken after she came home as it is mostly a rush to get out the door in the mornings.
A very content little girl after a big day.

In the school holidays a couple of weeks ago we finally got around to trying a little project that we had seen through Pinterest. After removing the paper and breaking up our store of old crayons, filling the tin bar one, 5 minutes in the oven, this is what we came out with.

Not much to look at from the top (possibly could have removed them a minute or two earlier)...

But great on the other side. So glad to finally complete a project from my Pinterest boards!!

Note to self....must not leave my next post for so long :)
