Lest We Forget

It's been over a month since visiting all the lovely places in blogland. My intention is to post more often than once a month so I'll have to keep working on that one!

The beginning of the school term saw me attending the local combined schools Anzac Service. They all did so well in their participation as they honoured those who gave their lives for their country. The sheer number of people who died in the wars was brought afresh to my mind once again.....just mind boggling....and very humbling.

My smiley Master 11 was asked to represent the primary school in placing a wreath at the cenotaph along with the school captains and another year 6 girl. Very pleased I was able to go and watch.

Not much quilting happening here just now, but I have finished a project I've been wanting to have a go at for a while. After grabbing a couple of biscuit boxes, mod podge and scrapbooking paper this was the result....

A bright bunch of tulips on the laundry windowsill which brings a smile to my face.....

.....and a fresh bunch on the bathroom vanity to bring some spring on the inside!
So happy to be able to enjoy the finished product.

I also popped over to the Vignette Hexagon blog today.....long overdue for a visit. Some very inspiring work over there.

I am reminded of when I last posted this picture of my hexie progress, which was in March 2012. I think I need to break the drought and piece together some more blooms to get the garden growing!
